Route 66 Gas Station - Spencer
United States / Halltown, Missouri
Location ID: #10071481
Past Paris Springs Junction, old Route 66 takes a jog off of State Road 96 onto County Road N and into the remains of Spencer, MO. Spencer was first founded in the late 1870s and became a pit stop for the classic Route 66. The small town died out when Route 66 was bypassed by I-44.
Today, the Phillips 66 gas station and garage have been restored to their former glory, welcoming a new generation of Route 66 travelers. The gas pumps, signs, and other memorabilia are from the owner's personal collection. They have also placed the vintage police car in the front of the buildings.
